Congressman Paul Ryan’s Take on Congressman Anthony Weiner’s Public Apology for Tweeting Lurid Photos

Congressman Paul Ryan (R, WI) on the Scott Hennen Show (6/6/11):

Scott Hennen:“I’ve got to ask you about the big story politically today; Anthony Weiner has been under fire storm. I predicted on Fridays program that he would resign before the weekend is out but I forgot that this is a resume enhancer for democrats for them saying: “Yeah I did it all, I regret it, I shouldn’t have done it, but I’m not going anywhere.” Shouldn’t the guy resign knowing what we know now?”

Congressman Paul Ryan: “I heard about this about 37 seconds ago, your producer, I’ve been in meetings, and all I’ve been hearing is a bunch of firefighters and sheriffs, I don’t really know enough about it to give a good comment about it other than I remember Chris Lee resigned as soon as it came out that he did something similar to this. I’m not saying that these are exact situations, I just feel sorry for his wife. She is a delightful woman, a really nice lady. To be honest, that’s where my mind is right now, I just feel really bad for his wife right now.”
